SELECTION OF OUR WORKS

tell your story

We often receive specific requests to craft display stands and book cases. From modern Swiss clocks, books to traditional Buddha statues, we design and create the perfect "stage" using solid wood and wood veneers to show off glorious works of art and literature.

A lot of time is taken to discuss, draw and finalised before crafting starts. Ultimately, the finished product must reflect what the client had envisioned and the workmanship must be top notch.

Big & beautiful

Commissioned to build a conversation piece by the owner of this 6500 sq ft house, our design idea was to sit the beautiful piece of Palisendro marble on a “throne”. We crafted four solid oak legs shaped like an elephant's, angled to give an illusion of the gentle animal’s movement. To support the weight of the marble, special steel inlays were inserted to prevent sag while the wood stain we chose illuminated the marble top. Weighing close to 350kg, this 3m long by 1.15m wide table comfortably sits 10 diners.

Work life pleasures

This piece of beauty was created with stability and resilience, with a touch of subtle humour in mind. Solid Walnut forms the main carcass frame, solid Maple brings a touch of light in the interior drawers while black matt laminate gives it a modern feel. The bevelled drawers add quirkiness to the otherwise sturdy desk, designed for optimal functionality and style.

A classic in shophouses

Located in the East Coast of Singapore, the client wanted a wooden spiral staircase to link the mezzanine study to the bedroom. A lover of wood, he opted for the rich colours of the Burmese Teak wood to create the 1.5 helix twist. Armed with a hand-held Festool circular saw, the entire stairs took 4 weeks of intense work to complete.

Reclaimed wood construction

Once upon a time, these Chengal wood held the fort of more than a century old Shophouse. Reclaiming them as bookshelves for the study room was a tall and heavy order. More than 250kg of floating book shelves now adorn the cosy study room of a conserved shophouse along Joo Chiat.

the big five

In a newly built home partially furnished with top Italian brand name furniture, the client found it challenging to get all the pieces she needed at home. After several design brainstorming meets, we handmade five unique pieces: study desks, sideboard and TV console to fit nicely into her new pad.

A sideboard for the living room using EDL's Fenix Black laminate and solid Oak wood. We designed 4 drawers on slant legs to give this classic piece an edge.

Bedroom ethics

A storage for earthly possessions. “Dream” captures emptiness and turns it into practical usage. We lighten things up with seven overhead floating cabinets and a secret headboard compartment that morphs into two seamless built-in sides. Helming the floor space is a king bed frame in stained solid Pine. Efficient yet unconventional, we've got all the necessities kept under wraps while the client dreams comfortably in bed. Crafted in White Ash & Dark Elm laminates, using Diamond ply and Blum systems.

small & happy

Challenged by the size of the living space, we designed this feature cabinet with functionality and style in mind. Pictures, books and collectibles come alive in this one-of-a-kind feature showcase.  "Clouds" is crafted with Japanese white-core laminate & "Walnut trees" in Walnut veneer. Base from Diamond ply, boards & BLUM systems.

The bedroom muse

Working from home is the new norm. Getting work done in the comforts of a Master bedroom requires customising pieces that fit nicely into the shared space. A curved L-shaped corner desk, wall shelvings, a set of movable drawers and a TV console completed the entire unit without diverting from its current interior styling. A lover of solid wood with a richer tinge, the client chose solid American Cherry wood with dark grey trims for a touch of modern.

Pure & chic

In this apartment in Munich, the entire external carpentry works are in white lacquer on MDF, while the interiors are fitted with dark grey matt Formica or solid Oak wood. This play of materials and colours are fun accents to the otherwise pure white that gives loads of light and volume to the space.

Many love the masculine tone and rich grains of Walnut wood. From solid wood to wood veneers, we are able to transform them into an array of furniture. Wood veneers are perfect for making cabinets at lower costs with greater style variants.

With such a long facade, the trickiest part was to ensure that the wood grains flow nicely taking advantage of the distinctive grains of each plank of timber.

         Outdoor dining

Set in a quiet neighbourhood, the client enjoys BBQ under the stars and cold beers. He commissioned us to craft a solid Ash wood table, paired with a couple of benches, reminiscent of a typical Bavarian beer garden. The light solid Ash wood was aged to give off a distressed look. The benches were joined using a traditional method of wooden plugs in Teak wood to contrast against the lighter Ash. Under the 2.3m long by 1.1m wide table, we incorporated another age old tradition of "dovetail locking nogging" or "gratleiste" in German, to prevent the solid Ash wood from warping.

       The good side

This is beauty and function in its simplest state. Tapping into the richness of dark walnut wood and light highlights of ash wood, we crafted a side table that is classic and solid, but with a twist to the traditional "C" silhouette. Used primarily as a side couch table, they are versatile for use anywhere at home.

      A feature memory

We love a good bottle of wine and so when this request came to us, we were excited to help. The client wanted an entire wall of wine holders for their all-time favourite bottles. Doubling as a grand dining room feature, it is perfect for tête-à-tête moments. Made from solid Ash wood in natural oil finish, each holder is hand crafted, purposefully staggered to maximise storage and securely screwed onto a white laminate board to offer a smooth base that blends with the white-washed wall.

The owner will take his time to build his collection for a total of 67 memorable bottles.

Asian flavours

Befitting of their eclectic style, the client had 156 pieces of Peranakan themed tiles to create their centrepiece. We morphed their idea into a solid dining table using stained solid Nyatoh wood in lacquer finish. Although the overall process is a straight forward mitre frame, much deliberation went into the colour scheme and care in laying the tiles evenly.

       The perfect tv companion

We have observed the homes of many TV lovers and came up with a bundle of must-have features. Our principal design centers around a double level core where the main cable boxes and other devices are neatly stored, with convenient push-to-open flaps for frequent usage. Combining solid wood and quality laminates, you can expect a one-of-a-kind TV console in any variant for your living area.

Sleek and fuss free: We kept the electrical wiring within the same laminate casing (just below the TV screen) to achieve a tidy look.

For the sophisticated

Boxes are for keeping things you treasure.

Women love them for jewellery while men keep prized cigars. Working on a high-end prototype for a luxury product designer and his client, we toiled over the technical details to make his design workable for production. The exterior was made using solid Walnut while the interior was in solid Mahogany. The final incorporation of the luxury crocodile leather work is done by The J. Meyers Company to complete this exquisite piece.

Wood marquetry

Layering thin strips of wood veneers is delicate work we love. The table top is an interlace of bamboo ply, solid Maple, Wenge & Maple veneers. These feature inlays give each table its unique character yet they complement perfectly. Both tops are on solid Nyatoh legs.

Coffee or tea

One of the prettiest pieces in a living area has to be a signature coffee table. We found a slab of Rainforest Tree locally that needed minimal crafting. With 2 months of air drying, shaping, sanding and finished with natural wood oil, we retained its natural beauty. This is a slab classic set over black powder coated steel legs, at 40cm tall, the perfect coffee table.

the everyday drawer

Seven drawers stacked one atop another. Whether it's standing tall or rotated at odd angles, each drawer has a sacred space in store for each day of the week. Clad in Wenge veneer and black matt laminate on marine ply base with solid Maple drawer (on side panels), the finger pull drawer gives it a fun and chic finish.

the retro

Combining beautiful European Pine wood with Asian Chengal, inspiration led us to craft four drawers in tropical Nyatoh wood using finger jointing method. We made an exposed full extension drawer system, known as "Kulissenführung" in German (which is a parallel slotted linked sliding system), in a mix of Maple and Chengal woods. This traditional system is very stable even at maximum drawer reach. With ceramic knobs from ZARA Home and Nyatoh retro legs.
